Guide

First visit guide

General conventions on reservations, pricing, and etiquette, based on official venue announcements and common industry practice. Individual venues may differ — always check that venue's own official account. This page contains no personal experience or reviews.

Do I need a reservation?
Most venues recommend booking ahead via their official Instagram, LINE, or website, especially on weekends and evenings. Walk-ins may face a wait or be turned away when busy. Reservation methods and fees vary by venue — check the official links listed on each venue’s page here.
Is there a minimum charge or entry fee?
Common charging models include a minimum spend, an entry fee, or time-based pricing, sometimes combined. Some venues charge separately for instant photos (cheki) or requesting a specific staff member. This site only lists pricing that venues have published officially; a blank field means no public pricing was found, not that it’s free.
Can I take photos? Can I photograph the staff?
Most maid/butler cafes prohibit customers from photographing staff with their own camera or phone. Keepsake photos are usually taken via a paid in-house instant-photo (cheki) service, with usage rights governed by the venue’s own rules. For the same reason, this site never hosts or re-shares staff photos — only links to venues’ official accounts.
Are there dress codes or behavior rules?
Common rules include no touching staff and no requesting personal contact information. Staff typically greet and see off customers with a roleplay phrase (see the Spells & Phrases guide). Some venues have additional rules on attire, alcohol (bar venues only), or when photos may be taken — check on-site signage or official announcements.
What does "designation" (指名) mean?
"Designation" means requesting service from a specific staff member, usually for an extra fee that varies by venue. Each venue page here notes under "Features" whether designation service is offered; ask the venue directly for current pricing.
